Molly Shannon in conversation with Bruce McCulloch, celebrating the 20th Anniversary of “Superstar”
SF Sketchfest proudly celebrates the talent, imagination and humor of the wonderful Molly Shannon, whose arrival at “Saturday Night Live” in 1995 took the comedy world by storm, quickly making her a fan favorite. She is beloved for her original, strange and hilarious characters, many of which were infused with a touching vulnerability. Perhaps the most famous of such characters is Mary Katherine Gallagher, whose popularity led to the film “Superstar” in 1999. Since leaving SNL in 2001, Molly has continued to portray complex, funny, fascinating female characters across television and film, including her current role as Diane on HBO’s “Divorce.” Molly was joined by her dear friend, collaborator and “Superstar” director Bruce McCulloch (Kids in the Hall) in conversation for this special one-of-a-kind conversation that followed our 20th anniversary screening.
