SF Sketchfest is a great place to be in January, and we couldn’t do it without our amazing group of volunteers. We are always looking for new and enthusiastic volunteers to help in the following areas:

Box Office: Box office volunteers help patrons find their tickets at will call, and assist with other ticketing-related troubleshooting.

Concessions/Merchandise Sales: Concession assistants will stock and assist the house manager selling beverages, t-shirts and posters. They help set up the bar/concessions area and clean it up after a show. If a venue sells alcoholic beverages, concession assistants must be over the age of 21.

Driving: Driving volunteers help us manage to move festival staff and guests from the airport to the city and between venues for shows in San Francisco. All drivers must be vetted via a quick, informal interview with our Artist Hospitality Manager and have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.

Events/Hospitality. Hospitality volunteers assist at events checking in guests, assisting with catering, securing staff areas, running errands and handing out information to guests.

Ushering. Ushers assist with crowd control, check people into shows, hand out programs, tear tickets, assist people in the theater, pick up programs and help turn a theater around after a show.

At most shows we have room for all volunteers to see the show either in a seat or in standing room. Sometimes this isn’t the case, but usually it works out. We have a lot of people who want to volunteer and we unfortunately can’t guarantee that you will be able to volunteer for a specific show (or that you will be able to see the show you are volunteering at). If there is something you REALLY want to see, you should purchase a ticket to ensure you can see the show.

If you’re interested in volunteering, please fill out the form below with as much information as possible. We will start scheduling shifts in early December. Thank you for your interest!
